Last Saturday was a cheat day for me. My mommy had promised me that I could have an ice cream cone before we agreed to do this no sugar challenge. I was not going to let her break her promise. I chose a cottoncandy flavoured ice cream, in a waffle cone. I had chocolate chips and sprinkles on the ice cream. My lips were blue and so was my tongue. It was mouthwatering but I don't miss it.

Week one. Over.
Today I woke up and I had some toast with butter. I am now over a week on this new way of eating. I thought I would hate the bread mommy was buying because it has no sugar in it, but it is really good. Especially with peanut butter on it. I was going to pack my school bag when a dog that I was dogsitting, named Murphy, stole my toast. My dad gave me some of his bread with peanut butter. When I got to my Grammas I had some porridge. At lunch I had a banana and some cantaloupe. Even though mom has always packed me a lot for lunches, I am extra hungry now. [most of what we pack for her lunches has been substituted to meet the requirements: organic, sugarless yogurt instead of yogurt drinks, two baked chicken legs instead of a ham sandwich, water instead of a juice box and lots of fresh fruits and veggies, as always. We have only had to take out granola bars with no replacement.] Even my dad is more hungry and all he has had to take out of his lunch was a granola bar. For a snack after school I had some almonds and a banana. At supper I had pasta. It was delicious.
